Beauty | Homemade Natural Beauty Products | Detox Bath

Baths are relaxing, but are also quite healing. Toxins can be released through the skin’s pores, with the help of certain ingredients and heat drawing them out. It’s also very easy to make your own homemade, detoxifying baths.

Warm water draws toxins out of your body and to the surface of your skin. Hot water is usually recommended for detoxifying, however hot water is known to dry out your skin, causing more problems like acne (from irritated skin). Warm water will do just fine for your detox bath. For an added effect, make sure your bathroom is nice and steamed up. As the water cools down, is when it pulls toxins completely out of the skin, according to Dr. Hazel Parcells, who specializes in Naturopath. Epsom salts boost this detoxification process by making you sweat. Other salts like sea salt, clay, baking soda, and dead sea salt minerals are all very cleansing – so they are great at helping to cleanse the skin.

Basic Detoxifying Bath

By following this recipe, your bath water should feel silky smooth and leave your skin feeling totally cleansed and soft.

For each bath you’ll need:

1 cup of sea salt

2 cups of baking soda

1 cup of Epsom salts

1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil, or vegetable oil, or baby oil

To Make:

Combine the sea salt, the baking soda, and the Epsom salt in a container or bowl. Stir so that everything is blended. Pour a quarter of a cup of your mixture into the bath under running water, so that it gets all nice and mixed. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil to the bath to keep your skin from drying out. You can put in more oil for dry skin, or less for oily skin.

it is amazing that everyday ingredients we already have at home and are natural work great! Sometimes they work better than expensive store bought brands. People had to do something to get great skin centuries ago. It is a great thing to see more and more people going back to nature.

Disclaimer: Each individual person, fabric, or material may react differently to a particular suggested use. It is recommended that before you begin to use any formula, you read the directions carefully and test it first. If you have any open sores, cuts, or wounds, the salts will hurt them. All ingredients are natural and safer to use than most harshly perfumed soaps and detergents. Should you have any health care-related questions or concerns, please call or see your physician or other health care provider. Caution: Do not take hot baths and salt baths (including Epsom salt baths) if you have heart trouble, high blood pressure, or are diabetic, without first asking your physician or health care provider.
