Diet is a four-letter word that is often associated with misery, starvation and stress. Don’t diet. Learn how to lose 10 pounds easily and effectively without the work and worry of a strict diet. Everyone knows that drinking water instead of soda or taking the stairs instead of the elevator can help you lose weight, but there are other simple calorie-saving secrets that aren’t so well known. For example, small blue dinner plates control portion sizes and harness the natural appetite suppressing power of the color blue. Placing a mirror opposite your position at the table can also cut down on portion sizes by raising your awareness. Foods like mushrooms contain Angiogenesis inhibitors which can block fat and tumors from forming in your body!

One important thing to remember is that losing 10 pounds should not be your only goal. You will fail if becoming thinner is your only goal. When you change your eating and exercise habits, you will feel better about yourself, your skin and hair will look more radiant and healthy, you will have more energy, and you will feel happier. You might even feel so good about yourself that you would not have that constant need to step on a scale to check how much you weigh.

The simple mathematics of losing weight are not so simple to implement. It takes a 3,500 calorie deficit to lose just one pound. This means that you must eat 3,500 calories less or burn that many calories through exercise for each pound that you carry. The number doesn’t sound too extremely high until you calculate exactly how many pounds you need to lose. For the person wishing to lose 10 pounds, they will need to burn 35,000 calories! That higher, more realistic number seems a lot more daunting.

It is not very difficult to learn how to lose 10 pounds. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to actually lose 10 pounds since perseverance and determination are required. Luckily, there are many ways you can trick your mind and your body into burning those calories so that you can be healthier and feel more attractive. When you need to quickly lose 10 pounds, try a combination of simple life modifications to achieve your weight loss dreams.

If you follow the plan (and it’s easy to do), you can lose up to 10 pounds in 11 days without counting calories or buying all kinds of protein shakes and supplements. Since I only had 15 pounds to lose, it took me less than a month (less than a month!) to reach my goal, even though it took ten years and two pregnancies to put on all those layers of adipose. Best of all, I felt good and strong the entire time. (If you use the authors’ accelerated program, you can lose even faster.)

I can’t believe how great it feels to be slender again. In addition, I’m happy to report that I breathe easier, sleep better, have way more energy and am happier in general. Instead of dragging myself out of bed in the morning, I bound out of bed. This diet has also stopped my heart palpitations which were waking me up in the middle of the night. I’m happy to share this weight loss eBook that has helped me reclaim my health, my body and quite literally, my life.

Barbara Streisand Only Pees On Rose Petals …

Pleasing a celebrity is no easy task. If they refuse to put on a show unless you deliver 37 fudge-dipped Siberian tigers to their dressing room, you better have 40 of those chocolatey cats ready just in case. Of course, that’s nothing compared to the outrageous backstage demands made by these stars.

Jennifer Lopez requires that you stir her coffee COUNTER-clockwise, and must have her dressing room draped with white sheets and filled with white roses and candles. The white candles must be prominently placed, and scented with Paris perfume, “Diptyque.” Her sheets must be of Egyptian cotton with a thread count of at least 250. Room temperature set at exactly 25.5 degrees Celsius.”

Rod Stewart refuses to tolerate any light in the hotel room for his afternoon nap. He sends a special “darkening” team to the hotel in advance to seal all cracks. And, he asks for 13 soccer balls.

Mariah Carey has a laundry list of demands, including Cristal champagne, air purifiers, newly installed toilet seats and GOLD faucets … and an attendant to dispose of her chewing gum. Only her own videos may be played on the two DVD players she demands for her room. Both Carey and her dog bathe only in French mineral water.

Justin Timberlake may need to speak with a doctor, but not because of his physical health: the singer has to have all doorknobs disinfected every two hours. The pop prince also requires an entire hotel floor, private fitness studio, and an extra-large stereo, along with Nintendo and PlayStation. The floor’s air conditioning filters must be changed on his arrival.

Drake loves his booze. The singer throws a picnic when he’s backstage, demanding 7 bottles of premium spirits to go with his selection of deli meats, chips and pasta.

David Hasselhoff likes himself so much that needs two. The former Baywatch star has to have a life-size cut-out of himself waiting creepily in his dressing room.

Vice President Dick Cheney requires all televisions in his room to be tuned to Fox News; a pot of decaf coffee and four cans of ‘Diet Caffeine Free Sprite; copies of The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal every morning and that his staff be notified in advance of any hotel gifts left in the suite.

Eminem is just a kid when he’s backstage, reportedly desiring video games, a basketball hoop and Lunchables snack pack meals. He also asks for pickles, a ping pong table, and lots of fast food from different restaurants.

Taylor Swift indulges her sweet tooth in her contract rider, with requests for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, caramel lattes, pumpkin bread and chocolate milk.

Christina Aguilera refuses to sit in traffic, which is why her contract states she must have a police escprt from the airport. The when she gets to her dressing room, a bottle of Flinstones vitamins has to be waiting.

Barbara Streisand wants everything peach-colored in her hotel rooms, including the toilet paper and the 120 specially-requested designer towels. She also reportedly likes rose petals placed in the toilets.

Rihanna is an animal backstage. The “Umbrella” singer needs cheetah and leopard-print pillows and a large animal-print throw rug, as well as a six-foot couch of “White, Cloth, Plush (No leather)” that she can nap on.

Have you ever opened up your lunch to find a love note from your mom tucked inside? Does your husband send you random text messages during the day just to say he loves you? If so, you know how good they make you feel. Special. Cared for. Loved.

But love notes don’t have to be just for your spouse or your kids. I’m sure y’all all know someone for whom you can write sweet notes, whether of love, friendship, or encouragement, regardless of whether or not you’re married, or have kids. And there’s no rule that says they have to go in lunches, either.

I’ve put together a list of various ways to say “I love you,” or “Congratulations,” “I’m thankful for your friendship,” or “Have a happy day!” Take these ideas, adapt them to your needs, and get ready to cause an epidemic of smiles!

10 Ways to Say “I Love You”:

1. Banagrams
Scratch a message into the peel of a banana. It’s practically invisible at first, but the broken peel will oxidize over time, causing your message to turn brown and visible within about an hour.

2. Pipe It On
Use frosting or cream cheese to spell out your message on cupcakes, muffins, or crackers.

3. Shower Power
Originally intended for little ones to play with in the tub, you can also use bath crayons to leave love notes on the shower wall.

4. Glass Act
Write your sweet nothings in bold glass marker across the window or back windshield of your spouse’s or teen’s car. Just make sure he can still see!

5. Happy Un-birthday
Wrap a small gift and pack it with your loved one’s lunch. When he reaches for his sandwich, he’ll also find a gift that says you celebrate his life every day, not just on his birthday.

6. Crack the Code
For a little lunchtime sleuthing, write a note in code and include a cipher. Your detective will have to de-code the message before she can read it.

7. Pickpocketing
Slip a love note into your husband’s wallet, or his pockets, before he gets dressed in the morning. He’ll discover your message the next time he opens his wallet.

8. Random Message
Send a random text message, e-mail, or voicemail during the day, just to say “I love you.”

9. Special Delivery
Arrange for something to be delivered to your spouse’s workplace or child’s classroom. A simple card, cupcakes for the class, lunch from your husband’s favorite restaurant.

10. Fortune Teller
Make your own “fortunes” and slip them into fortune cookies in place of the originals. Your spouse or child will be in for a surprise when she opens the cookie!

1. Love him, but don’t be his girlfriend. Being his girlfriend means being exclusive with out a “forever” promise. If you want to get married, don’t be his girlfriend. A man might tell you that he needs time to decide if you’re right for him, but according to Rori men know very soon whether or not you’re the One.

2. Don’t be exclusive until you’re engaged. Once you’ve become exclusive and have your eye on marriage, a man can sense that you’re thinking about the relationship, wondering where things are going, hoping he loves you as much as you love him—all of which are totally normal feelings, but they make men withdraw emotionally, says Rori. Not being exclusive gives you room to breath, relax and really figure out if this is the relationship for you, which allows him to fall for you without worrying that you’re overly invested in him.

3. Date more than one man at once. The corollary to not being exclusive is dating more than one guy at a time. That way you can compare men to each other, you don’t feel urgent about one particular man, and you’re able to be open to new opportunities. Of course, if he’s ready to commit and marry you then by all means, be exclusive—but not until he’s ready to really commit.

4. Be able to receive love. If a man doesn’t think you’re able to be loved, he won’t be able to commit. You need to show him that you can handle his emotions and believe that he loves you.

5. Don’t try to win him over. Don’t make him dinner every night, clean his place for him and come over as soon as he says he has the flu. That will put you in the mother or friend category.

6. Tell him what you want. If you want to get engaged and he’s stalling, tell him what you want. Be kind but direct. Keep it short and simple. And above all, be emotionally available to whatever his response it.

Guys aren’t psychic, mind telling them what you mean?

Guys don’t like to be used as pawns in trying to make your friends jealous.

Guys tend to get serious with their relationship and become too possessive. Better watch out girls.

The biggest turn off for guys is to see girls smoking.

The biggest turn on for guys are the girls who workout.

Girls who don’t want to listen to the truth shouldn’t be asking any questions.

Ending a heated conversation with “Fine” or “Whatever” isn’t considered acceptable.

If you want sex, just ask.

Don’t expect guys to say as many sweet things as they do in the movies. It takes 10 couples to come up with one sweet thing that they put up in the movies.

Only models are able to carry off most of the stuff you see in fashion magazines.

A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to.

A guy would sacrifice his money for lunch just to get you a couple of roses.

Guys need to be reassured often that they’re still loved.

Guys don’t care about how gorgeous you are, it’s goodbye, adios, and sayonara if you’re being a bitch.

All guys are kinky and willing to try anything that you may enjoy, just let them know.

Guys are more emotional than you think. If they loved you at one point, it’ll take them a lot longer than you think to let you go, and it hurts every second that they try.

A guy would do just about anything to get you to notice him.

Guys do not look into minute detailing. So, if you gave up a quarter of an inch from your 20 inches long hair, don’t expect your guy to know that instantly.

Guys like porn!

Anything said six months ago is inadmissible in an argument. All comments become null and void after seven days.

“The game is on” will be considered an acceptable excuse to postpone any serious conversations.

Cooking makes a girl all the more attractive.

You can’t get mad if your guy refuses to hook up your “ugly friend” with one of his good-looking friends.

Nothing you will ever do will entitle you to operate the remote control, unless operating means handing it to him.

The only thing left to be said after sex is “goodnight.”

Video games have helped men develop awesome finger skills that only encourage them to play more often.

Critiquing a man’s driving is outright unacceptable.

Guys’ night outs are sacred events. If you ask any question about it, you’ll be castigated.

Believe it or not, 99.5% of the time men honestly don’t mean to hurt you.

Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about.

Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend or ex love-interest.

If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don’t need to give advice.

Don’t hold it against your guy if he starts to cry after a good sports movie, and was laughing outrageously last night when the two of you were watching an emotional drama saga.

Leaving a message like “You know what?! Mmm… Never mind…” would make a guy hanging on to that thought all day long and reach a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking. Don’t ever do that!

A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.

Guys love you more than you love them.

No matter how much guys talk about hotness or sex appeal, personality is key.

When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl, he really is. Guys rarely say that.

If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him. It doesn’t happen that often, so when it does, you know something’s up.

A guy has more problems than you can see with your naked eyes.

Guys talk about girls more than girls talk about guys.

You like when your guy calls and asks you out for dinner and pays for you, right? Well yeah, guys like it once in a while too.

It’s natural for a guy’s eyes to wander.

It’s not that guys don’t want to make their girlfriends happy; it’s just that sometimes, they don’t know how.

A guy would give his right arm to be able to read a girl’s mind for a day.

Not all guys are jerks. Just because one is a jackass doesn’t mean he represents all of them.

When a guy sacrifices his sleep and health just to be with you, he isn’t doing it all for sex. It means he likes you more than you can imagine.

Even if you dumped a guy months ago and he loved you, he probably still does and if he had one wish it would be to have you back in his life.

Guys love girls with brains more than girls in miniskirts.

A guy would waste his time over video games and football, the way a girl would do over novels and make-ups.

The idea of kids being allowed to choose their own meals and mealtimes would have been shocking a few decades ago.

Back then, it was normal to say, “Eat what’s on your plate or else you’re getting it tomorrow” and “Eat your broccoli or no dessert”.

A food-industry strategy is the creation of food “niches” (which means group of people they are aiming at: based on age, ethnicity, gender, lifestyle and where they are located). For example: teenagers are a niche. Kids are a niche. Elderly people are a niche. Busy moms are a niche.

A few decades ago, everyone ate the same foods. Nowadays, there’s kid food, there’s teenager food and there’s grownup food. The food industry’s plan was to make most parents buy three times as much food” as their own parents did.

It’s something to think about, next time your parents are eating steamed vegetables and you (a teenager or young adult) is eating pizza bites after school or a bag of chips. Your younger siblings might be eating goldfish crackers or some other type of “little kid food”.

It’s totally unnecessary, but it’s a good strategy that the food industry uses to make money.

When we skip meals, eat extra meals, or eat breakfast at dinner time (pancakes, bacon, eggs), or dinner for breakfast (cold pizza or chicken), we feel edgy and criminal. “Three meals a day” is almost like a law or Bible phrase.

But it’s what our culture designed.

People all over the world, even in North America, have not always eaten three meals a day.

New studies explore the health effects of eating three meals a day.

US Department of Agriculture found that eating only one big meal a day instead of three regular-sized meals lowers weight and body fat but raises blood pressure. Three meals per day lowers blood pressure, but increases weight and body fat.

National Institute on Aging study found that eating one big meal a day instead of three, raises insulin resistance and glucose intolerance.

A University of Maastricht (Dutch) study found that eating at least four small meals daily reduces obesity risk by 45%. This study also found that people who skip breakfast are five times as likely to become obese as people who regularly eat breakfast.

But a University of Ottawa study found that eating many small meals doesn’t promote weight loss. So did a French National Center for Scientific Research study, which trashed “grazing”.

A UC Berkeley study found that “alternate-day fasting” — feasting one day, fasting the next, might decrease the risk of heart disease and cancer. **Stunnazine disagrees with this because of first hand experience with ancestors who have lived this way for many decades and in a family of seven, five had developed cancer in later years. They may be right about decreasing heart disease, however.

Researching the effects of meal frequency is difficult, because it involves so many things: nutritional content, time of day eating happens, exercise, genetics, etc.

“There is no biological reason for eating three meals a day,”

Yale University professor Paul Freedman, editor of Food: The History of Taste (University of California Press, 2007), says that eating three big meals is totally not necessary.

The number of meals eaten per day, along with the standard hour and fare for each, “are cultural patterns no different from how close you stand when talking to people or what you do with your body as you speak. Human beings are predictable and like to be comfortable. They have become comfortable with the idea of eating three meals a day,” Freedman says.

For most of history, meal times changed quite a bit.

Some days people ate, and other days they did not. For example, “a medieval European peasant would start the morning with ale or bread, then bring some kind of food to the fields (where he worked) and have a large meal sometime in the afternoon,” Freedman says. “He might have what he called ‘dinner’ at 2 in the afternoon or 6 in the evening, or later”, depending on his work, the season and other factors.

“He wouldn’t have a large evening meal. He would just grab something small, easy, and quick.”

Our Ancestors Didn’t Do It!

Stunnazine editor-in-chief, Kayce’s grandfather came from a family where in the 1930′s and 40′s, food was scarce and the family would typically eat a handful of blueberries for dinner some nights, and other nights a large chicken with mashed potatoes. In the 1950′s and 60′s when her grandparents were married, everyone had a small breakfast (usually toast or a bowl of porridge), and the women spent the day cooking a big lunch to take out to their husbands who worked all day on the field. Dinner could be anywhere from 4pm – midnight depending on the season and length of time they had to work that day. Dinner was usually small; soup or a sandwich.

Food for earlier humans tended to be eaten in daylight; not because eating earlier was considered healthier, but because cooking, consuming and cleaning up is difficult in the dark or by firelight.

Rich People Ate After Dark

“People who were not rich tried to get all their meals eaten before dark. After electricity was discovered, initially only the rich could afford it,” Freedman says. “From that point onward, one mark of being rich became how late you ate. Eating way after dark because you could afford electric lights was a mark of high status, urbanity and class.”

Eating late, or at random times, or more or less than three times daily was usually because of work schedules and traditional family life.

Throughout most of the 20th century, most workers could eat only at specific times.

“When that factory whistle blew at five o’clock, it was time to go home and be fed. But now all kinds of Americans are eating later than five because they work longer hours than they used to, or because their hours are now more flexible. We are losing the three-meals-a-day tradition, thanks to eating throughout the day, different members of a household having different schedules, and to the fact that the kids might not want to eat what their parents are eating.”

Humans are Natural Hunters and Gatherers

This is a good thing, since studies have shown that eating when you can, and eating smaller meals more frequently is healthier (since humans are natural hunters and gatherers). But the three-meals a day tradition is also being fought by the food industry.

“The food industry wants you to buy more food,” so it urges us to eat as much and as often as possible. It’s an easy sell because Americans have always liked snacks.

A snack boom began in the mid-20th century and hasn’t stopped. Thriving through a wrecked economy, the global snack industry is predicted to be worth $330 billion by 2015. In the US alone, retail sales of packaged snacks increased from $56 billion to $64 billion between 2006 and 2010, and are expected to reach $77 billion by 2015.

So, while advertisements showing families sitting down to eat a fun, family dinner with tacos, pizza, or hamburger helper, or a snack commercial with fun snacks (like pizza bites) aimed at teenagers or kids, remember that is just what the Food Industry wants us to do, because it means more money for them. It has nothing to do with what humans are actually supposed to do.

Best of all, they are healthy, and packed full of nutrients and vitamins since they are all natural.

You can also easily make them yourself with just a few things!

Makes 6 Pops

INGREDIENTS

10 ounces fresh strawberries; stems removed, rinsed and drained

3-5 tablespoons sugar (*depending how sweet you want them)

1/2 cup water

3 ounces limeade or lime puree (substitute with another type of pureed frozen fruit if you prefer.

MAKE THE POPS

In a blender, puree strawberries, sugar, limeade / lime juice, and water, until smooth, set aside.

Insert sticks into ice tray, little plastic cups, or pop maker.

Pour 1 ounce strawberry puree into each tray. Allow this layer to freeze completely. (Approximately 3+ hours)

Next pour 1/2 ounce limeade into each cavity. Allow this layer to freeze completely. (Approximately 3+ hours)

Finally pour another layer of the strawberry puree, just to fill the rest of each cup. Allow this layer to freeze completely.

Remove the pops. Enjoy!

* Adjust the amount of sugar based upon the sweetness of your berries. Strawberries from local farms tend to have a much sweeter and true berry flavor than those found in the supermarkets. We recommend using organic ingredients whenever possible! Not only are they healthier, but the taste better too!
